Air Europa to Resume Madrid-Marrakech Route in March

Air Europa has announced the resumption of its Madrid-Marrakech route starting March 21, following a temporary halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With Marrakech emerging as a sought-after tourist destination among European travelers, the airline will operate two weekly flights between Marrakech-Menara airport and its hub in Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suarez. Despite the interruption, Air Europa remains confident in the route’s performance, citing sustained demand since its launch in 2017. Anticipating a robust summer season, the airline plans to offer over 32,500 seats to North Africa, with an expected average occupancy rate of 75% in the coming months. Additionally, other airlines are expanding their routes to Morocco, reflecting the growing popularity of the destination. Transavia, for instance, has introduced new flight routes from French cities to Tangier and Rabat, while TUI Fly has launched routes between Oujda and Antwerp to cater to the Moroccan community in Belgium.
