Meet your professional guide at the hotel to review the program together. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. After breakfast, we'll take a tour of Tangier, the gateway between Europe and Africa. Stretching along the Maghreb coast at the western entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, Tangier offers a unique blend of cultures. Many influences have shaped the city for centuries, attracting artists, spies and eccentric foreigners. After lunch, drive to Chefchaouen. Free time for bargain hunting. Dinner (optional) and overnight at hotel. Options: meals and activities (see extras).

After breakfast, you'll take a brief tour of Chefchaouen. One of Morocco's prettiest towns, beautifully perched beneath the rugged peaks of the Rif mountains. The ancient medina is a delight of Moroccan and Andalusian influence, with red-tiled roofs, bright blue buildings and narrow streets. Chaouen was named one of the top 10 most beautiful cities in the world by Conde naste traveler (#6). After lunch, we drive to Fez, an imperial city also known as the “Moroccan Versailles”, stopping to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The entire day will be spent exploring the many beautiful and fascinating sites of Fez, Morocco's oldest cultural and spiritual imperial city, founded in 789 BC by Moulay Idriss II. Highlights will include the medieval Medina, the Medersas (a university of Islamic learning), the El Qaraouiyyin Mosque and the sumptuous Nejjarine Fountain, the impressive labyrinth of the souks have been declared by UNESCO as one of the cultural treasures of the world. The tour also allows photo stops at the imposing Bab Boujloud gate, the splendid fountain of Place Nejjarine, the ancient ramparts and the beautiful entrance to the Royal Palace. Night at the hotel. Full day drive through the cedar forests and picturesque landscapes of the Middle Atlas mountains to Erfoud, stopping at the mountain resort of Ifrane nicknamed the "little Switzerland of Morocco", Azrou; sheltering Barbary apes and stop at Midelt for lunch. Then travel through the Ziz valley and reach the Rissani gate and Erfoud. Departure for a 4x4 adventure towards Merzouga to enjoy a memorable sunset in the dunes of the Sahara. Night in tents in the dunes of Merzouga. Options: meals and activities (see extras).

Early in the morning, we will enjoy a camel ride while admiring one of the most sumptuous sunrises in the world rising over the dunes of Merzouga. Return to camp for breakfast and drive to Tinghir via Tinjdad where we will visit the Lalla Mimouna Museum - an open-air museum showcasing the history and culture of the local region, an educational project set up by a local artist. In Tinghir, you will enjoy a view of exceptional beauty over the top of the Todgha gorges and magnificent green gardens as well as meeting nomads. After lunch, we will head to Ouarzazate via the Dades Valley with its thousand Kasbahs and we will stop at Kelaat Mgouna, known for its roses. Two distilleries in the region produce rose water and essences widely used in perfumery Night at the hotel. Options: meals and activities (see extras).

Breakfast at the hotel. We will visit the Kasbah of Tifoultout, it is one of the most beautiful Kasbahs of Glaoui, then we will continue to the Atlas and CLA film studios, where hundreds of Hollywood films have been filmed before heading to the Kasbah of Glaoui. Ait Ben Haddou, an impressive 11th century structure, which has been declared by UNESCO as a historic treasure. After lunch, we will leave for Marrakech via the Tichka pass which offers an impressive landscape in the heart of the Atlas mountain range. Night at the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel. A guided cultural tour of Marrakech begins with the lush Majorelle Botanical Gardens, privately owned by the Yves St. Laurent Foundation, where we will stop for a stroll. We continue towards the ancient medina nestled behind the imperial walls. Here we will visit the main historical sites, starting with the 14th century Medersa Ben Youssef, once a Koranic school and notable for its extraordinary interior latticework decoration. We continue our visit to the Menebhi Palace (19th century), property of a Moroccan vizier. Today it houses the Musée de Marrakech, a private museum with rotating exhibitions of Moroccan art. After lunch, we will continue our tours through the 12th century Kasbah (fortress) where we will see the distinctive carved gate of Bab Agnaou before heading to the site of the 16th century monument, the Saadian Tombs, before crossing the Mellah ( Jewish quarter) to visit the aristocratic Bahia Palace. Finally, we will finish our walk in the colorful souks of Marrakech and the famous Jemaa El Fna square. Options: meals and activities (see extras).

Breakfast at the hotel. This is the end of our 9 day tour in Morocco. Upon request, vehicle and assistance can be provided for your private transfer to Menara Airport or any other domestic airport. Please refer to the price list for intercity transfers.
