Breakfast at the hotel. A guided cultural tour of Marrakech begins with the lush Majorelle Botanical Gardens, privately owned by the Yves St. Laurent Foundation, where we will stop for a stroll. We continue towards the ancient medina nestled behind the imperial walls. Here we will visit the main historical sites, starting with the 14th century Medersa Ben Youssef, once a Koranic school and notable for its extraordinary interior latticework decoration. We continue our visit to the Menebhi Palace (19th century), property of a Moroccan vizier. Today it houses the Musée de Marrakech, a private museum with rotating exhibitions of Moroccan art. After lunch, we will continue our tours through the 12th century Kasbah (fortress) where we will see the distinctive carved gate of Bab Agnaou before heading to the site of the 16th century monument, the Saadian Tombs, before crossing the Mellah ( Jewish quarter) to visit the aristocratic Bahia Palace. Finally, we will finish our walk in the colorful souks of Marrakech and the famous Jemaa El Fna square. Options: meals and activities (see extras).
