These four imperial cities are: Fez , founded by the Idrissid Sultan Idris I , Marrakech , founded by the Almoravid Sultan Youssef Ibn Tachfin, Rabat , founded by the Almohad Sultan Abd al-Mumin, Meknes , founded in the 11th century by the dynasty of the Almoravids under the reign of the Alawite sultan Ismaïl ben Chérif.

Next, a guided tour of Casablanca includes a visit to the port of the old medina; Place Mohammed V, a bustling shopping street lined with residential blocks dating from the 1930s; United Nations Square, designed by French architect Joseph Marrast; the League of Arab States Park, built in 1925 and which offers a large green space with palm trees, arcades, pergolas and cafes with shaded terraces; and the impressive, newly built Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in the world.
A 1.5-hour guided tour of the mosque interior allows guests to see the interior of one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslims. Overnight at the selected hotel in Casablanca.

A morning drive to Rabat, for a guided tour of Rabat, including the old medina; the picturesque Oudaya kasbah, Oudaya museum and gate, built during the Almohad dynasty; the well-preserved Hassan Tower and Chellah which were built by the Marinids in the 12th and 13th centuries; the Mohamed V mausoleum, burial place of the father of the current king; the synagogue; the facade of the Royal Palace; and the government district.
Free afternoon to explore the city center shopping district or visit the impressive archaeological museum with its collection of objects found in Volubilis.

Morning drive to Tangier via the Caves of Hercules and Cape Spartel The natural limestone caves known as the Caves of Hercules were named after a story from classical mythology which tells of Hercules resting in these caves . Notice how the opening of the cave to the sea looks like an inverted map of the African continent. Prehistoric remains have been discovered here and circular carvings can be seen on the cave walls today. Cape Spartel, known as Cape of Vines to the 3rd century Romans who occupied this land, is located on the northwest tip of Africa. The Cape Lighthouse overlooks the strait where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. Continue to Tangier. Tangier, gateway to Europe and Africa, is a very ancient city, which served as a key strategic port for many civilizations.

Departure in the morning for Tetouan, a city founded in 1307, known today for its architecture and Hispano-Moorish culture, for a brief visit. Continue to Meknes, a city founded in the 9th century by the Zenata Berbers. A guided tour of this ancient imperial city of Morocco includes the ancient walls; the Agoudal basin which was used to water the royal gardens and to entertain the favorite concubines; the Moulay Ismail royal stables, granaries and the Water House (Dar el Ma) which were built in the 17th and 18th centuries to house, feed and water the sultan's twelve thousand horses; Bab el Mansour, one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco; the mausoleum of Moulay Ismaïl, one of the rare holy places in Morocco that can be visited by non-Muslims; and the medina with its souks of silks, shoes, woodwork, ironwork and basketwork.

Drive to nearby Volubilis for an afternoon tour to see impressive and well-preserved Roman ruins, including around 30 mosaic floors dating from 25 BC.

Full-day guided tour of Fez, highlighting the old and new medina. The tour of this religious capital of Morocco includes visiting the 14th century religious schools (medrasa) of Bou Inania and Attarine. We also include photo stops at the imposing Bab Boujloud Gate, the splendid fountain of Nejjarine Square, the ancient ramparts and the beautiful main entrance to the Royal Palace. UNESCO has declared this impressive labyrinth one of the world's cultural treasures.

Breakfast
A full day's drive to Marrakech via Beni-Mellal, this provincial capital is a growing agricultural market and commercial center, surrounded by remarkably well-irrigated olive trees. You can stop at Ain Asserdoun, 3.5 km to the southeast. Lunch at the Ain Asserdoun restaurant Optional 120 dhs, the surroundings of which have been converted into gardens. A road goes up to the Kasbah of Ras el Ain (1 km) overlooking the city and the Tadla plain. It is a few hundred meters away that you have the most beautiful view of the Kasbah. Continue to Marrakech overnight at Marrakech Hotel Adam Park.

Breakfast
A morning cultural guided tour begins with the Menara Gardens, where we see the small Saadian pavilion reflected in the calm water of the Atlas Mountains and the olive groves in the background. This pavilion was used by sultans for romantic interludes. Then, we enter the ancient medina, buried within the imperial enclosure, where we stop at the foot of the Koutoubia minaret, one of the masterpieces of Islamic architecture. We continue towards the Kasbah (fortress) where a walk leads us to the monumental site of the 16th century Saadian Tombs. Note the magnificent Hispano-Moorish architecture surrounding the Royal Family Cemetery. Next, a tour of the aristocratic Bahia Palace shows us a lush Moorish-style garden in the courtyard of a grand palace with beautifully painted residential rooms. Finally, a walk on the famous Jemaa El Fna square, the ancient meeting point of North-West African traders, ends the visit.
